It is funny because we were just talking about memories of getting dressed up for Easter. As a small child, I always got a new spring coat, and I got to wear my patent leather shoes. As for Easter baskets, I received two of them: one from my parents and one from my dear Libran aunt, who always knew exactly what little girls treasured when she bought presents. I now wish I hadn't eaten the candy in the basket, but I was addicted to sugar and so I did. The gifts in the Easter basket were inexpensive, but one gave me hours of fun: the colorful little round bottle of soap and plastic bubble wand. Reminds me now of the song: "I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles," and all those early twentieth century wistful melodies and words: "Smile Awhile," "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows," "Somewhere over the Rainbow," and the modern "Rainbow Connection." Sometimes poignant is pleasurable rather than merely sad. Have a Happy Easter.
